I saw one of the interviews where he spoke about it, basically he said they like to look at all options possibilities, even if they know they won't add them. Luckily he went on to reassure people that they will alway's make single player game........ Thank

Is there a risk in announcing a game [Fallout 4] and releasing it in such a relatively short space of time?

MP would not only kill this game, but the franchise IMO. Having said that, I don't doubt that if ESO is successful they will spinoff a fallout online game as well. I'm fine with that, as long as they keep it separate from the single player games they produce.
They are by far, one of the best and last single player game makers in the business...

@Scott. I've watched loads of Told Howard interviews since E3, one of them was him talking about the release date. He said, if he could they would wait and announce the game weeks apart, the problems is managing getting the game to all the different regions
and producing the copies of the game in time, he said they left it as late as they possibly could, any later and they would be pushing their luck in case of random production/shipping problems.

He carried on to say, if it was download only (eg, Fallout Shelter) there would be no issue revealing and releasing the game simultaneously.

So yeah, they obviously did their homework and came to the conclusion it was the right time to announce the game and give a release date, and still have a buffer for any problems with production they may come across.

There is actually a part of that digitalspy interview which very similar to the interview I watched, he says more or less the same thing there.

I agree, I think this will end up being a bigger headache for them more than anything else.

I can see it now.......thread after thread in the forums complaining about why a mod can be played on the PC and not the console. Or Mod (fill in the blank) broke my game.

They have to know that MS/Sony aren't going to open their consoles up to allow for what most of us consider modding so why do it all.

The idea of using mods is really exciting but I don't think we will be getting that on the Ps4 side which is sad. Well I looked it up and it will but the timetable is "fuzzy"....well it gives me a little hope. I like mods.

Hmmm, was thinking of getting it for the PC as i modded the crap out of Fallout 3, BUTTT pre-ordered my copy for the Xbox One. If in future i want to mod it i'll grab a copy in a Steam sale or something.

I'm so looking forward to this game. I even started playing Fallout 3 again, the PC version though because it looks better than on the 360. And it runs better. I'll buy the digital version of F4 on the One. Don't even care if it will cost more.

Not majorly fussed about mods myself. Each to their own though.

It's the same problem that we always see at E3 or with any big announcements.....the guys in charge will make bold promises yet when the guys that actually have to make it happen discuss it.....it's not nearly as optimistic.

As someone who's used mods on the PC for nearly 30 yrs I already have very low expectations knowing how they work on the PC and why 90 percent of that won't work on the consoles but they have given people very high expectations that won't be met and will
only lead to a bunch of disappointed gamers.
