Fallout 3 wont update?

Got the Xbox One with a copy of Fallout 4 and a download card for Fallout 3. After starting up the machine for the first time and updating, I got message saying my controller needed an update and that installed fine so I plugged the download card code in
first and the game said it needed to update and so it began installing. Then when I try to play it, the update thing comes up and says I need to update. So I try the update and it now keeps telling me that there was a problem with the update. I checked my
connection and it says it is fine, but it still wont update. How can I fix this problem?

L4D2 disc does not work on Xbox one

Mines the same way l4d2 wont work fable 3 wont work on disc fallout 3 wont work on disc and none of my dvds new or classic wont work all 360 games that i have downloaded work perfectly but no disc works that i have tried

I agree. I loved Fallout 3 and put over 225 hours into it. But I am just not enjoying New Vegas at all. In fact I will play through this DLC and just trade NV in. Its just nowhere near as good as Fallout 3. THe good news is that Bethesda developed Fallout
3 and will be developing Skyrim. So thats a good sign. Obsidian developed New Vegas and you can tell. Its just nowhere near as good as Fallout 3.

Have you tried uninstalling the game and re-installing it yet? Sometimes if the update fails a re-installation is your best option and can help clear up the issue. Let us know if that helps

 

I tried that and it did not work. I did however get a helpful chat with a microsoft xbox support guy and fixed it by clearing the cache system .

Here's how:

To clear the cache, on the Xbox One Dashboard, please go to Settings >> Disc and Blu Ray >> Blu Ray >> Persistent Storage >> Clear Persistent Storage. After this, please go to Settings >> Network >> Advanced Settings >> Alternate MAC >> Clear Alternate MAC
>> Then restart the console.

Worked fine after that.
