Fallout 3 Redemption Code Generates Xbos-0x80150017 Error on Xbox1

Purchased Fallout4 in the Xbox Store which included the Fallout3 download. The Fallout3 redemption code delivered to my Messages won't download and generates the ...0017 error. This happens on both the PC and the Xbox. Spent two
hours chatting with Xbox support. Verified regions and subscription settings. They said something about the redemption code being set for Australia and wanted me to change the region on my Xbox to verify. I identified the region can only be changed once every
three months and wasn't comfortable doing that. If the codes are wrong please send me the correct ones. They finally sent me here.

FYI- having the same problem with GOW-1 and GOW-3 from the GOW Ultimate Edition. GOW-2 and GOW-Judgement codes did work on a PC but not on the Xbox One initially.

Ya getting new code isn't going to help I do not why support told you that

The codes are universal and not the issue

With those content getting new codes won't solve your issue

As mentioned in your other post in bc forums it's the content that is region locked so new codes won't work

Your only way to fix the issue is to match your account region to your actual region

If you don't live in an xbox live region it wont work

You must match your account region to your actual region also region locked content doesn't transfer between regions

Console region has no bearing on the error

The only way it would be Australian if your account region is Australian which is on you but the codes would work in anynregion it would be pulling up based on your account region

If you don't live in Australia you must match your account region to yours actual region

If you don't in a live region then you don't qualify for the codes

Gears and fallout are region locked just not 2 and judgement

The redemption codes provided are universal codes, not tied to a specific region. Your account may not be set to the region you live in, so be sure to check out the link provided in ngocphi's post to resolve the issue!

 

Thank you for the responses. As stated in my original post, I've already verified my Live account region is set to United States, same as my billing address. It always has been. So what next?

 

You have to match your account region to your actual region

Us foreign bases don't count as the us they count as the host country

Territories count as their own country fyi

Saying you are in the US but you really aren't won't help

It's the account region and physical region

If those two do match but then you use the region migration tool to remigrate to the same region

 

In your original post you said it's an Australian code

Meaning you live in Australia?

That would be your problem

Australia isn't the us

Physical region and account region has to be the same

 

Lemme guess you are using the US for cheaper prices but you don't actually live in the us but live in australia

That would be your issue

Gears 1 and 3 and fallout 3 are region locked

Along with most m rated games or triple a titles

You won't be able to download them till you match your account region to your actual region

For the best experience with live your account region must reflect your actual region

 

Region locks are legal restrictions if you don't want to match your account region to your actual region. You won't be able to get the content

Chill beanYou don't read very well do you? Xbox tech support said it was an Australian code; not me. Best as I can tell, the only way to verify your account region is the link down in the bottom left corner when you log in. Mine read English (United States)
which matches my billing and home address in Pennsylvania (that's in the United States too).

On a whim I used the Change 360 Account Region link and selected United States. I received a confirmation email that said my account had been changed from Canada to US. There is no way it should ever have been set to Canada with the billing information entered
during the account setup.

The MS transaction software should also be verifying the CC address matches the address provided as further verification. I'd be willing to bet that many of the members here experiencing the same problem are unaware their account region is not where they
believe it is set. Personally, I think MS has a bug in their system in this regard.

My redeem codes were accepted after the change was made. Thank you for your assistance.
