    I pre-ordered Fallout 4 last year on 17 August

    It was supposed to come with a pre-paid code for Fallout 3 (for the back compatibility on Xbox One) but I never received a message or the code.

    It can take up to 10 days to receive the Fallout 3 code. The promotion is valid through February, so if you bought digitally you should be receiving the code as an Xbox Live message in due course. When that message arrives, simply redeem it to begin downloading
    Fallout 3.

    Thanks for posting! This promotion to receive Fallout 3 ended on 2/8/2016. Since you purchased Fallout 4 in March, that would be the reason you didn't receive Fallout 3.
