Fallout 3 Prepaid Code will not work. Support Chat sent me here.

I received a Fallout 3 code for Christmas. I opened it yesterday and it kept saying invalid. I tried to take it back to some stores to exchange, but none would since it had been opened.

I tried chatting with support, and they said the code looks good but seems to be for an xbox one. I downloaded it on xbox.com as per his instructions, but it will not download on my 360.

I get this message:

Success!
You now own Fallout 3.
This will automatically install on your home Xbox. If your Xbox is on or is set to Instant-on, automatic updates and purchases are on, and it has enough space, it’ll start the download. If you'd like to change your home Xbox, on that console, go to Settings >Personalization > My
home Xbox. To change your power options, go to Settings > Power mode & startup.
But support says those are instructions for the xbox one.

No fallout 3 code

I preordered fallout 4 through Xbox store app. Bought and downloaded game before release. Never got code for fallout 3. Spent an hour with xbox support chat and they sent me here. Would like code sent to me as stated in purchase details. Gt is .

 

Fallout 3 code lost in messages.

I purchased fallout 4 and was sent a code to download fallout 3 as a promotion for pre ordering. Now I am unable to retrieve the message and after speaking with xbox live support via chat I was told to post here.

If someone could assist me with getting the code for fallout 3 that would be great.

 

Check your download history and see if it allows you to download from there -
support.xbox.com/.../redownload-content

 

It doesn't show up on my 360 DL history at all.

 

OK does your account region match your actual region if not that would be why

If you selected the US or UK for English and don't live there that would be blocking the code

You need to match it by going to account settings on their website and using the change my region

Also you must change the locale after on your console to match

Support chat said the code is acting like it will only work for xbox one. He said it's very odd, and the people on this forum would have the ability to generate a new code if needed? I'm not sure if that's true or not.

 

The codes were given out as part of a promotion. If you purchased Fallout 4 for Xbox One, you would receive a code for Fallout 3. The code should still work for the 360 though since it is a 360 game.

If you received the code as part of that promotion, you could try posting here -

However, since the code has already been used it may not be possible to get an exchange and if you were not the one who took part in the promotion you may not be able to get the code exchanged.

 

Hey there, newvaughan! I'm really sorry to see that you are unable to download Fallout 3 onto your 360. I've ran into this exactly once before. This game SHOULD be able to be installed onto your Xbox 360.
