fallout 3 missing dll files

Hi,

With missing files through steam you should run the game integrity check.

Find the game in your list. For this example I'm using Fallout 4, but the process is
exactly the same on all Steam games.

Right click and select Properties





Click Verify Integrity of game files.

Steam will check your install and if files are missing it will re-download them.





If that doesn't work, you may have to update GFWL launcher. Don't worry though, you're going to remove it later. This is explained in the guide from Steam which I have linked further down.

Lastly, you don't need to keep Games For Windows Live installed to run Fallout 3 in Windows 10. It can be striped out. But to strip it out you'll need to launch the game to the main menu. This sets up your hardware configuration and creates
an all important Fallout 3.ini file. Once you've got to the main menu, quit the game.

After that,
read this guide from Steam. It explains helpful fixes and how to remove GFWL from the game. I own Fallout 3 but I have the version from GoG.com, this version already has GFWL removed.

Thanks for the photos. It seems like the files VCRUNTIME140.dll and MSVCP140.dll are either missing or corrupted. I suggest installing Microsoft Visual
C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 as these files are part of the package and should resolve the issue.

I found an error, albeit with the help of another source. But the source of the error was found. Essentially, the Win Store version is installed incompletely.
- Binary/settings folder 3 mxml missing
- Binaries folder DLL gaps

- Non-existence of No Man's Sky\Content\GAMEDATA\ Shadercache folder

Please fix it as soon as possible.. Because players won't be constantly trashing missing files..

The DLL file you downloaded and pasted on the JRE folder was the opengl32.dll?

Hi-

I am also having trouble running Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 on PC.

I get two error messages, saying the files MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140_1.dll cannot be found, and then another error message from Xbox PC saying the game has crashed. This happens with both games.

I updated my computer and the graphics card driver and I reset the store cache. The games won't run in administrator mode.

Any other suggestions? Windows 11, and Xbox store says the games "should play great on this PC".
