Fallout 3 launching using Xbox App problem

So, today I reinstalled Fallout 3 after the update that supposedly makes Fallout 3 playable on Windows again. The installation failed several times, but it was eventually figured out. Upon installation finishing, I could launch the launcher successfully, no problems whatsoever, and even launch the game itself. The menu is as beautiful as ever, but upon trying to make a new game, the whole thing crashes, no error code, no text box, no nothing. The laptop I'm attempting to play it on should very well and undoubtedly be able to run the game, as it runs games like Titanfall 2 really smoothly. If anyone can help me out, that'd be great.
