Fallout 3 Disc Based DLC Not Working

Hello, I am trying to find some answers about this issue, since Microsoft could not help me and told me to contact Bethesda for help. It would be more likely for me to suddenly become omnipotent and fix the problem myself than it would be for Bethesda
to show the slightest bit of courtesy to a long-time customer. I own the disc for Fallout 3, standard game, not GOTY, and and a disc-based add-on pack with Broken Steel and Point Lookout. The dlc shows as being installed on my Xbox One under the "Manage game
and add-ons" section, but does not show up within the game in the download section, nor do I get the "Loading Extra Content" message. I tried escaping the vault and seeing if that would trigger anything, but nope. When I go to the downloads section, I only
get a screen listing all the dlc I can purchase, which I am not going to do since I already own it. I have tried playing the game from the Fallout 3 disc and from the dlc disc, but it is not possible to play from the dlc disc. The Xbox recognizes it as an
install disc only. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the content in various orders, but still no dlc. I am at a loss. Microsoft couldn't help and I don't see any answers online. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

The Known Experience Concerns states that the retail non-GOTY DLC discs should work if I have the digital version of Fallout 3, which I do.

"Fallout 3: You will only be able to play disc based DLC for Fallout 3 if you also own the digital version of the game. Disc based DLC includes the Broken Steel and Point Lookout disc and the Operation Anchorage and The Pitt disc. This restriction
does not apply to the Game of the Year Edition."

So in my case, it should work but does not. The DLCs are downloaded but not recognized when they should be.

If you read the issues with Fallout 3 back compat, only the standard version did not work with the DLC. You need to insert the disc with the dlc in, and that should install the game and the dlc as well.

Googling the topic of back compat dlc, I have seen a suggestion that dlc only works if you have the dlc disc in the drive, but in your case, that would mean not have vanilla fallout 3 disc in the drive so you couldn't play the game. digital ownership of
dlc works, and dlc bundled on a disk like a GOTY edition works. but I think the edge case of original game disc plus expansion disc just won't work. When you put in a disc and install it, the content is there but the xbox one will not let you access it without
the corresponding disc inserted (so you can't install it, sell the disc, then keep playing), and sadly the xbox one has only one disc tray so impossible to have access to content from two discs at the same time.

Try checking youre radio frequency. That will trigger it when your near the area. Also, it's bs that you can only access the one dlc at a time. I have fo3 installed, so once im done playing the incerted dlc cd, taking it out will erase everything until
i put it back in. So when i move on the dlc on the next disc, it will only have that loaded content. Microsoft and Bethesda should have had this fixed many many years ago.i know the smart delivery on the xbsx wont mean **** either for this problem. So its
just for people chaseing achievements, and going back to memory lane.

Only the Game of the Year DLC disk will work, the other ones do not have the correct fingerprint. Worse comes to worse they’re frequently on sale for about $1.50
