Fallout 3 Code Received but Error when entering

Hello,

I received my fallout 3 code, however when I try to enter it, it initially recognises the code.

After I click Redeem code, and enter the characters it says ' Fallout 3 prepaid code', then I click next and it says

Something went wrong
Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate.
But there is no code, the only other information is this at the bottom of the page

Cant redeem fallout 3 code

my cousin brought me a fallout 4 disk from australia it had a fallout 3 code in it but i get an error when entering it pls help

• Promotion name: “Free Fallout 3 code with digital purchase of Fallout 4”
• Date of purchase: January 4, 2016
• I get error code 0x80150017 when I try to redeem my Fallout 3 code.
  
• Additional comments: I received my code on January 13. I've tried redeeming the code, but get the same error. I was directed by customer support in chat to post this thread.

Please be sure the region of your account is tied to the correct region. Cross-region accounts aren't supported and cause issues when trying to redeem codes. If you're still having trouble with redeeming the code even after setting your account to the correct
region, Phone/Chat support will be your best point of contact with code redemption trouble.
