Fallout 3 Code not Working

I received a code for a backwards compatible copy of Fallout 3 when I purchased Fallout 4. However the code won't work, I've tried dozens of time and been in touch with the support chat facility and it still won't work. I keep getting the message "An unexpected
error has occurred. The error has been recorded and Microsoft will work to fix the issue. Please try again later"

Could I perhaps be given a new code? I actually own it on the 360 anyway but I don't have my physical copy here with me

You should get an error code when you receive the error message. What code do you see?

Does your account region match your physical location? That game is region locked so if they don't match, the code will not work.

 

I used Help Centre Chat and they said to try and change the region on the console to USA and that might fix it but it didn't.

The error code changes. This is the most recent one:

Seems like someone else is having the same problem as me. It's very frustrating. I already own the physical copy on the 360 but I don't have it here. I've been getting this error message for 3 days now

 

Your account region not just the console region must match your actual region

To change this you must goto my account and change my region on this website

Then change the locale of the console

Changing the locale has no bearing on your account region and your account region must reflect your actual region

 

I tried that and the code still isn't working
