Fall Out 3 GOTY

I recently installed Fall Out 3 on my XBOX One via download. I am playing and enjoying the game. I found a new Fall Out 3 GOTY in a retail store. This version has the extra GOTY content which is what I am interested. Can If I install the retail version with
the added content and be able to keep my game progress and/or will I have two Fall Out 3's on my console? lose my game progress?

I had to go to games, all games, search, enter fallout 3, click on it and it gave me the install button. And I did not figure this out, thanks for your reply

 

Fall Out 3

I entered the code for Fall Out three that came with the Fall Out 4 game and nothing is loading. I reentered the code and it tells me I already entered the code, anybody have any idea what might be the problem.

 

In the instructions manual of the GOTY edition is stated that both versions of the game share the same save files, yet I remember that there have been complaints from Canadian side of the border that the two versions are not compatible for them.

 

It works! GOTY has 2 discs and XBOX appears to have ignored the first disc since the game was already installed. Its the second disc that adds the additional content. I have not lost any game progress and still using the same profile.
