Fake Microsoft Messages

Hey everyone, so had a incident come up earlier today and wanted to post this to help keep people aware.

With online communities growing spam messages from fake accounts are rising and decreasing as enforcement works hard to stop them (I think the first I saw was domino coupons or something, got spammed by 7 fake accounts on it) Most recent one I've seen is
one claiming to be xbox chat support asking for account logins to authenticate the account or it'll be permanently terminated. Just remember to block and report. Seems like a no brainer but some players just don't know or don't want to risk it.

I found out about this by a friend joining my party and asking me what to do cause he was nervous his account would disappear in 24 hours like the message said, then someone else in the party said they received the same message. With new gamers joining or
gamers who just don't go online a ton may not know, Block and Report them and let enforcement do their thing and stop these Fake Accounts.

Xbox has a separate section in your message tab called "Messages from Xbox Live" and you can't reply to them in it. that's where you can receive free promotion codes. And if it ever happens a message from enforcement telling you action is being taken and
to check your email for all details.

Yes I am 100% sure they were not messages to say my friend were jumping online. I have about a minute of constant alerts and each one was clearly about an incoming message.

I guess it was just some weird one time glitch.

 

If you ever receive what you believe to be a fake email from Microsoft, reach out to customer support immediately in regards to the issue. NEVER give out personal account information via email, Microsoft will never ask you to do that.

 

Always keep an eye on the content of these messages and remember that Microsoft does not ask for any personal information.

 

MS will never ask for account info. The will never reach out unless by request. They have an authentication procedure they follow very strictly before they can even talk in any detail about your account.

 

Report and block the user is the best thing to do

 

You need to report the user/message and block who sent You this

 

I reported also but that’s the advice I gave to the ones who got it. The account didn’t sent it to me but they emailed screenshots from their phones to me.

It's not surprising with all the fake emails i get from the so called bank, netflix and others.

I think people willn't get pull into it unless they are kids.

 

You gotta report and block the users who do this.
