Fake Console

The price difference is 100€ from the lowest price on any of my local shops, and it has warranty until March 17 from the store where he bought it.

 

warranties are usually not transferable, so the store could just refuse to assist if anything goes wrong, and if they do accept the warranty it will be the person who purchased it that has to deal with it.

 

I don't know why some people seem so scared of used items. As long as you use common sense when buying then you have very little to worry about.

As for your Xbox One, as long as it will turn on, you can play a few minutes online, and everything seems fine then you should be good to go.

Some people are mentioning that it's possible the console is currently under investigation and could be banned in the near future if the former owner did something wrong on there. While that's definitely *possible*, it's highly unlikely. Nobody suddenly
decides to sell their console because they think they *might* be about to receive a ban. They get banned, then start trying to think of ways to pawn off the console on someone else.

 

It's not rocket science. Buy from an Authorized Retailer which Microsoft says. In New Zealand and Australia, they include JB Hi Fi, DSE, etc. Microsoft usually has a list of authorized retailers on their site. Preferably from an authorized retail shop. The
only place which I would fully trust to buy an Xbox console from, is from this site, their official Xbox site.

 

@smileskybird: When was the last time you visited a retail precinct in YOUR neighborhood? I'm an Australian (g'day mate lol), but down under there is no longer a retail presence trading as "DSE" (you were referring to *** Smith Electronics, amirite?). FWIW,
I would *never* buy used goods - never have, never will. Nothing beats the mint-fresh, factory-sealed flavor of a brand new console!

I personally wouldn't buy a used console unless you knew the person you were buying from, 100% trusted them and got to try the console properly before handing over your cash. Even then I'd still prefer to buy new.

Even my local GAME store a few years back hit the local newspaper because 2 or 3 people bought a used console, got it home only to find the consoles banned from Xbox Live. They just didn't check the consoles properly when they were traded in. The customers
got a new console but it was some messing about.
