Failure trying to play original xbox titles on xbox 360 even after latest firmware update.

Today I decided that I wanted to play my old xbox original games on my xbox 360, So I went and downloaded the latest update onto a USB and attempted to update

my console. Apparently my system updated but I still can't play xbox original titles. I don't get an error code it just tells me that the titles are not supported on my device and that I may need a system update to support it, even though I already updated.

Can't play compatible Original Xbox game

I'm trying to play the JSRF/SEGA GT 2002 combo game on the Xbox 360 Pro with the 120GB HDD on the latest firmware but it doesn't even load up, it just says that the game is not supported and there may be an update, but I already updated everything using
a USB because my Xbox 360 isn't connected to the internet. I already tested the game on my original Xbox and it works flawlessly, even loading up on the first try since the the game has no scratches. Please help!

Xbox Originals - Old Xbox Games - Question, Need Answer

I've tested several original XBOX titles with the current update. They work. Are you trying to play games on the

backwards compatible list?

Do you have an official Xbox HDD installed? You need this in order to play the original Xbox games that are supported. You can read all about playing Original Xbox games and which ones are supported here:

I am having the same problem. I am trying to play Need For Speed Underground 2 and it's on the game list so I don't know why it's not working

As Hyrule mentioned an official Xbox hard drive is required to play backwards compatible games. A USB drive, internal flash or 3rd party hard drives will not work.

Only official hard drives that are bought from a reputable retailer (ie. not ebay or amazon online services) will work.

Do you actually have a original XBOX 360 Wireless controller (and not a 3rd party manufacturer's like CodeJunkies?) They informed Microsoft that there is an incompatibility issue with their 3rd party controllers and that a firmware update is required for
the controllers to work correctly with the XBOX 360's latest dashboard update.

Your Xbox 360 will play all Xbox 360 titles. If you're talking about Xbox original titles, if compatible, the game will download the appropriate emulation patch once you're signed in and launch the game. If you're signed into Xbox Live, then you have the
latest dashboard update available. There is no update button available, because to connect to Xbox Live, your console auto-updates, with your permission. It is load and play. You pop your disc in, and you play the game. I'm not understanding your issue.
