    Failed updates need to STOP unistalling games


    Only in this month, due power failures during the download of a update I've already lost:

    Destiny 2 (100+ GB)

    Red Dead Redemption 2 (100+ GB)

    Battlefield 5 (60+ GB)

    Doom Eternal (40+ GB)

    Some people have data cap on their internet plans. Others, like me, due lack of competition are locked on a really slow internet connection and download 300+ GB due a failed update is completely unacceptable. The download of the update need to be separated
    of the installation process. I've already turned off "keep my games updated" but that is absolutely no guarantee that nothing wrong will happen during the download I initiated.

    Could be updating and for some reason the update fails and the game could be unistalled in the process. Was this the case? Was during a update?

    If the game didn't install properly, or stopped for a time it would uninstall itself. This has been in effect for a while. Same as if you stop an installation, or pause it. After a while it will uninstall to protect from corruption. All you need to do is install again. Make sure you do not pause or stop it.

    There really is no way to know to know for sure. Maybe the games tried to update and the update failed so they were removed from the PC.
    Hi, I understand but I'd been playing this game perfectly fine up until today, and yet it still uninstalled itself, A failed update is the only option here that seems possible, but it seems a very bad system to have to completely reinstall a game because of a failed update, particularly for very large games.
