    Failed UPDATE bricked my Xbox, and I got it back somehow


    So the title says it all. Support and I covered all bases. Reset/OSU3+2+1. Nothing would get passed the E201.

    But! 2 weeks later I decided to give OSU1 another download and try. Same USB stick. Over wrote the update folder. And it worked! It friggin WORKED!

    Yay! Good news.

    i work for goodwill and we still get lots of xboxes that still(!) work. i'm impressed...my piece of *** xbox 360 elite failed on me after a year of owning it and my slim got bricked by the may 21st 2011 update

    My xbox takes for ever to start now it just gets stuck on the xbox 360 thing. :/ and about 20 minutes later the update comes up and FAILS!

    Maybe your power brick burned out or got broke somehow

    This is more than likely the power brick has failed. Same thing happened to my x360 and the reason I updated to Xbox one X. Time to update to a new console I suggest.

    Either the next gen Series S/X models or XBox one S/X.

    You won't look back, but will wonder why you didn't update earlier.

    Could My xbox be fixable?

    I have the OG box with the external brick, and the original power brick, but it doesn’t work. I got a new one awhile ago. Im sorry I failed to mention I went to get my Xbox repaired at a local place and it worked for a while but started doing the same thing but almost worse. The original power brick doesn’t work anymore, idk why.

    The original brick worked when I got my Xbox back from repairs but I decided to use the other one because it was quieter and newer.

    The Error Code was something like E208 0000045D 00000005. The start up error or whatever.

    Yeah I’ve tried different outlets and unfortunately nothing seemed to help.
