    Factory Reset Issues

In order to finish downloading the Cold War Update that released recently, I had to perform a factory reset of my Xbox (many people cited this and it wouldn't launch properly unless this was done). After my console booted back up, some of things weren't restored properly.

My party system wouldn't display correctly or work as it should. It would cut out in parties for several seconds without displaying a "connecting" prompt and now I can't even join parties. When I try to make my own, it takes about 20 seconds to launch and I can't view my icon.

Whenever I test my network connection it says that it's connecting fine (my internet is working because all my other devices are fine) and when I try to look at my network details I just get a "something went wrong message". No error code or anything else just that.

I can't customize my profile or Xbox either because I get the same message.

I can launch Cold War fine and I've played on it, but when I launch Destiny 2 I get error code Centipede , which is a network error.

I have no idea what happened and no idea how to fix this. My warranty expired a while ago so it feels like my only options are to get a new console or continue playing until it finally dies. would appreciate any advice.

    :)

    Factory reset issues

Why can I not update via the normal process, why does it have to a be an offline update? I don't have access to a PC to download it onto a USB. Is this going to keep happening until I do the offline update?

Hello Trynot29! I hope that you are doing well!

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the forums regarding this situation.

With multiplayer and game issues like these, there could be many factors that could cause the packet loss issue so it's best to start with basic troubleshooting steps and work our way up trying different things to start ruling out some factors and narrow it down to the root cause.

    Solution 1: Basic troubleshooting steps:

    Step 1: Clear Mac address:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

Step 2: Close any running games:

To remove download constraints from games or apps being installed, you can either wait for the Xbox to suspend the running game, or you can force games to close by doing the following:

    1. On the Home screen, navigate to your most recently run game.
    2. With the game highlighted, press the Menu button and select Quit.
    Step 3: Remove your account:

First, please select System > Settings > account > remove accounts and then select your account and select Remove to confirm then re-add your account.

    Step 4: Reset your console:

If you are still encountering the same issue, please select System > Settings > System > Console info > Select Reset console > Choose Reset and keep my games and apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

Step 5: Check your NAT type:

Another thing you should check is your NAT type. I would like you to check your NAT type if open because that could sometimes interfere. to check for the NAT type you can follow the steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > NAT type => It should be open.

If the NAT type is not open, you will need to open some ports with your internet provider. These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work: Port 88 (UDP) Port 3074 (UDP and TCP) Port 53 (UDP and TCP) Port 80 (TCP) Port 500 (UDP) Port 3544 (UDP) Port 4500 (UDP).

Step 7: Check your internet connection:

In case the issue still persists, please try connecting to a different network, or perhaps using a hotspot momentarily to just sync your worlds and then connecting to your home network once more.

Solution 2 - Troubleshoot multiplayer connection issues:

If the issue still persists after trying the previous troubleshooting steps, I highly recommend checking the steps mentioned in the link bellow:

I wish you a lovely day, and I hope this helps you out!

    Kind Regards

    Stay safe, and happy gaming!

    Factory reset issues

Since you can't preform an offline update, you can follow the instructions listed below to perform a physical reset which will result in performing a systematic update if needed:

    - Turn off the console unplug all the cables then re-plug them back again.

    - Click on the "Bind" and "Eject" buttons at the same time after 10 seconds click the home "X" button just once without letting go of the two buttons. Throughout the whole process you will hear two beep sounds and end up with a troubleshooting page. On your screen. You will need to select the "Reset this Xbox" option and choose "Reset and keep my games and apps".

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

    multiple issues forces factory reset

Hi All, Have you tried a total reboot? (green splash screen?) I would try this before doing a system default restore. With the console on, press and hold the power button on the console for 5-8 seconds until it shuts off. Unplug the power supply, wait
about 30 seconds and then plug it in and reboot. You should see the green splash screen upon reboot. It may take a minute to boot all the way to the home screen. If you did not see the green Xbox splash screen, please redo it.

This flushing of the memory and restarting the OS seems to solve many issue on the Xbox One at the moment until as Sirhc92 has advised - a patch comes out.
