Fable Legends will be Free to Play

Just say if I bring my computer on a trip and what digital said. I dought all TV in all hotel's have HDMIable TV's.

 

Makes sense... guess when I am on a trip.. playing video games is very low on my list of things to do...

like going on vacation to a place you never been before and eating at McDonald's.

 

Wasn't to big on it but I will try it now. No sense not too.

 

I was never the biggest Fable fan. So what little interest I had in this game is now completely gone.

 

Yeah the F2P kinda screams poor quality. It looks like they were making a Game they thought was good but then realized it wasn't worth Retail. Too bad they just didn't have the conviction to make an amazing Retail Game.

 

If it is free, might as well try it .

Worst case scenario , you delete it .

 

@ LostKauz : Do you have some sources ? Or did you made that,just to complain....

So far,Fable Legends doesn't looks like cheap,more in AAA standard....Lionheads choose free to play as business model and doesn't seems to be a bad idea especially for PC gamers who are used to it.

 

Nope no "source", just a gut feeling. Given the track record of Fable and the odd timing they would say, "its F2P!!". It just reeks of desperation. I mean if it was their "plan" all along, why wait so long? One would think if
they were proud of this accomplishment of making it a F2P, they would have said it from the get go.

The once great AAA Game, Exclusive Title and Flagship Title of the original Xbox (second to Halo of course) making its debut on the Next Gen Console has taken the route of, "please play our Game, it's free!". Desperation written
all over it. Seems fitting though given the downfall of the Franchise/ IP.

 

The original Fable was a good game, though a little over-hyped. Fable 2 gave the girlfriend and I countless hours of fun, and we were looking forward to Fable 3; she and I both felt letdown with that. Was hopeful for another Fable to co-op with her...this
isn't it.

As it stands, her and I both have no interest in the upcoming Fable even IF they're giving it away.

I like the Fable games, enjoyed all 3. Bit disappointed we haven't had a proper follow up game, but will keep an open mind with Fable Legends, no point dissing a game when no one have played it yet.

 

I'm looking forward to trying it out.

I know people seem to get a little nervous lets say when we hear a game is F2P, I have myself but I've played some myself that I have absolutely loved.

Warframe being the most recent, I know not everyone's cup of tea but I've put more time into this game on both PS4 and XB1 than a lot of other titles.

Like Mr Drunky said above, I'm keeping an open mind about this, of course we can all have opinions on the game but no-one really knows until they get to try it out.

 

Yeah I was definitely looking forward to a propper Fable, feels long overdue now. Tbh, I'm not expecting much from Legends and I certainly wasn't going to buy it day one. I do have to admit though, I am a little worried about what it's going to be like now
it's free.... Kind of made me expect even less than I did before. We'll see though I guess.

 

Guess I wasn't really expecting much either, considering how the Fable series started out and what it ended up like (IMO). I'm not a PC gamer, so really don't have much 'outside experience' to base any expectations on.

Free to DL with rotation characters bi-weekly doesn't sound too bad I guess, like someone else mentioned, depends on how much it costs to 'keep' a favorite.

I do have to wonder, are the other games (Neverwinter fe) going to be like this as well? Or will they require buying the game, but no sub fee, like ESO?

 

Neverwinter is free to play,from what i know and read,microtransactions seems to be ok and fair ( cosmetics and short cuts)....Neverwinter was released on PC and Xbox one (China),i didn't heard anything bad about microtransactions in this game. (can't wait,the
beta was good).

And i think Lionhead is smart enough,to avoid "free to play mistakes".

There are not all bad :World of tanks,Warframe,Killer Instinct,....

 

From what I've seen so far, I wasn't very interested in the game, but now that I know that it's F2P, I'm more likely to give it a try. So, while a F2P concept may not be for everyone, in this case, it actually works to the developers benefit because they've
successfully persuaded me into actually giving it a try, which is more thought than I would've given it beforehand.
