Fable Legends, Fable Fans

I agree InkedAngel86 And that is what I love about Fable. Being able to do what you want, when you want. Interact with NPC's, make them love or hate you. Build the economy up in a ghetto, or plummet a thriving town. Watch a town rise or fall with your
decisions. Make any home yours, customize the homes. Play with a friend, or dont. Just enjoy Fable the way you want to. Fable is truly one of the best RPG's still to this day. In my opinion the best.

I will get Fable Legends. Only to help support Lionhead Studios and to be able to see what an early Albion looks like.

 

The first fable was epic, the second was alright but the third one was crap. I've tried out legends and it wasn't my cup of tea. So I'll be skipping it when it gets released.

 

On the upside this new Fable could have a few things that make it appealing. If you use your imagination... something the series started to lack the more Peter Impossibru Molyneux got involved, and

Dene and Simon Carter's vision was uh... somewhat misdirected by the dude who makes casual gaming boringly easy even for casuals.The man has to be the WORST creative director in the history of video games. IMNSHO

Consider for this new Fable: Character Creation.

Actual character creation, which will be expanded on over time in updates and through developer support. Not two generic frames, one male, one female... that the game has more impact on than you do. In later Fables getting scarred from battle wasn't even
a thing that mattered. And oh yeah, eat a million chicks to get your evil up gamers, so that you're neutral, so that when you stand still you don't sprout glowing wings and get a halo.

Or donate some cash yall, so that when you go home you don't bang your big black horns on the door frame as your adorable, annoying - pointless, no meaningfull relationship here - kids come to bother your big ugly, weird looking self.

So character creation with races, faces, body types, different fighting styles... maybe a better system of leveling and success than pressing a button to win... Fable II dropped the specific skill sets, coloured leveling orbs, by Fable III you didn't even
have to focus fire, just hit a button and pop... dead baddie by gunsies. The AoE spells were always OP. But at least in Fable I you had to cast spells to get better spells. Meaning a struggle early-on with weaker spells against enemies.

Molyneux's impact on these games amounted to, "Make sure the dog looks good. Also is there any way we can utterly destroy information the player might need? Not in a clever Dead Space way, but in a... confused, y'know, where's my map, and why doesn't this
stupid trail thing work? ... way. Players should be saying, 'That dog under my character's feet is getting annoying.' or we're just not having a meaningful impact."

Meanwhile everything that makes a game challengingly fun was dropped for a walk in a world with a dog and button that wins. Died? Nevermind, you get teleported away with no real consequences. Winning is what we do here at Molyneux Inc. Except when

a guy in Scotland wins my Molyneux "life-changing prize" and nothing happens.

So yeah... character creation. lol

Consider also the projected length this game will be supported for... 5 - 10. New additions could mean expansions to take your character on solo quests adventures, exploratory excursions. Perhaps when a Fable IV does arrive, Fable Legends players may
be able to port their heroes into it, that they've adventured with and customised up the wahzoo. Peter Molyneux is on the fence about this Fable game. That's a ringing endorsement for it being successful IMO. It's like a stamp of quality having that guy question
gameplay, "Maybe we could control everything with just one hand in the game-world..." no, how about you'll have to patch in hotkeys later so that players aren't hindered by your stupid design choices!

So yeah, ranting here, but long term vision, updates, support, character creation, and no reason this game can't complement future Fables. It's gonna be FREE. Which is a great reason to take it for a ride. Molyneux isn't sure about
it, and isn't involved in it either... which is an even better reason to hop onboard. Heh ha.

I was still thinking of getting Fable Anniversay ... Would you still recommend getting it?

 

Heck yeah. They did a fantastic job remaking Fable Anniversary. It is not a just a brush up. Like these other games. They truly REMASTERED Fable Anniversary.

Remastered has been thrown around way to much as of late. There are only a few games that have been truly remastered. Fable Anniversary is one of them

 

I want a Fable IV not a fable legends.

 

I could never replay any of the Fables over again and am only lukewarm about the next one. The series seems to be going backward...the overall feeling is going from dread and revenge to aww let's all just hug and forgive each other.

 

I'd still recommend fable anniversary, I really did enjoy it, but after I finally did get to play it after all these years of people saying it was the best fable I actually think number 2 was better and the best overall (apart from that end boss fight, haha).

 

DA, I'm going to agree with you...it was definitely the best one.

 

I really enjoyed the original Fable and loved Fable 2, but they lost me with Fable 3... I've never seen so much potential wasted... I'm keeping an eye out for Fable Legends, won't get my hopes up though.

 

I've tried both Fable 2 and Fable 3. My conclusion - Peter Molyneux is a very good salesman who is really able to hype the games.

 

I'm watching Fable: Legends with much scrutiny. It's not going to be what we know as "Fable", but it can still be a decent game while retaining the Fable aesthetics.
