So after reading that thread, here lies a problem:

We have spend countless hours to complete storylines of our characters. Even worse: some of us have more than one. What are we to do about them? Again, countless hours were spent on each. We can't get that time back. That is the original point from MBraderz.

For example, I have 3 characters. All with completed storylines and unlocked areas that were incredibly annoying to unlock in the first place (e.g.: Demon Doors, Lady Grey, Completed Knothole island DLC, Completed See the Future DLC). And this isn't counting
the difficult achievements that we were in the progress of getting (e.g.: "The Dollcatcher": Collect all Hero dolls, or see another Hero collect them.). The achievement in the example, there is only 1 Hero doll per character's world. And there are a total
of 5. However, some are more rare than others. In my case, I had 3 of the 5.

So I ask you, what is in the works to fix this issue (which really shouldn't of been ignored in the first place due to "No platinum backwards compatibility" as patching games is part of development).

It's unlikely anything is being done. There are several factors working against you:

Microsoft closed Lionhead Studios, the developer of Fable, over four years ago.
Fable 2 was released in 2008, and the Platinum Hits version is over ten years old.
A change to the Xbox One's backwards comparability would be required, which is unlikely to happen this late in development.
Fable 2 was released in 2008. No one at Microsoft had imagined Game Pass. The Xbox Marketplace was very different during this era (it was mostly XBLArcade games). For example, the digital version of Fable 2 was sold in episodes.

As MBraderz pointed out, you will need to play the game using your Platinum Hits disc, on a compatible version of the Xbox One (S or X). Your other option is to play on an Xbox 360.

That may be. However, patches can still be put in. I admit, there are old games I'm shocked for that got patched. But it can still happen. My disc is missing. And honestly, as someone who's looking into support and programming, it should be hard to make
the patch. I'd look into it myself but, Microsoft's Xbox programming language is not one I'm learning right now.

Sure, it's possible this issue will be patched. But given how much work the backwards compatibility team has ahead of them with the Series X, the odds of that happening are unlikely. If you become a software developer, there's a phrase you'll learn:
Good enough for most users.

You've spent "countless hours" playing Fable 2 on the Xbox One. If I'm reading your post correctly, you're frustrated about achievements? It's unlikely this issue affects enough users to warrant a policy change to the backwards compatibility system (which
is what would be required unless the Platinum Hits version became available digitally).

Hopefully you find another copy of the disc. Many were made. Given how much time you invested in this game, it's worth buying a used copy.

That explains it all then, thank you for your speedy reply, I'm relieved I wasn't the only person to encounter this issue, albeit a very limited one in terms of games which are BC, have DLC included on one disc and on the Gamepass list.

I'll continue with the work around I currently use to enjoy the DLC, and maybe in the future we'll see a remastered version of Fable 2/3 from MS
