Fable 2 cannot successfully download to Xbox 360

Yes, it kept displaying the giant Exclamation Point. I tried deleting it each time before re-downloading.

I have not yet tried the Clear System Cache, so I will try that as soon as I get home from work. (And thanks for the tip to do it three times! You'd think just once would be sufficient.)

I'm not sure... I would think so--I live in St. Louis, MO, so I assume that's an official Xbox Live region?

My *original* Microsoft account was initiated when we lived in CA; but I made my Xbox Live account yesterday (while in MO) before purchasing the game and DLC.

Via Xbox interface, I'm not sure how to access the location option to check if it matches?

Basically you need to complete a region migration

Goto https://accounts.microsoft.com

And find the region migration tool

No they don't. They're already in the U.S.

Just to note, when we say 'Xbox Live Region' we are referring to countries, United States, United Kingdom, France, etc.

If you've downloaded over three times, and each one has failed, it could indicate an issue with the hard drive.

1. Clear the Xbox 360 cache, three times. Turn the console off, and then turn it back on.

2. Delete the corrupted download.

3. Don't download this game again straight away. Go to the marketplace, find a game demo, or a couple of game demo's. Download these completely. When they are complete do not delete these demo's yet.

4. Try downloading the game again. If it works, delete the demo\s you downloaded earlier.

If you're wondering why you are downloading demos, let me explain. When you download anything on to a hard drive it will go to where the first available space is, if this hard drive has a hardware issue, the game may become corrupt going to this location.
Downloading the demo's first, will put these demo's where your game used to be. Your game now resides on a different location on the hard drive.

If this works, problem solved, at least for now. But I would suggest you replace your hard drive soon.

It sounds like the game download may be corrupt. Here's what I'd look for (it sounds like you did part of this already):

First, delete whatever may be installed of the game. Go to Settings -> System -> Storage -> Hard Drive and look for either "Fable 2" or "Unknown content" (it may have a circle with an exclamation point in it). Delete that.

Next, back up to where you have the Hard Drive selected and press Y for Device Options. On that menu, choose "Clear System Cache" and run it three times in succession (each run takes just a few seconds). After that, shut down the console.

After it sits for about 20-30 seconds, restart it and try downloading the game again. Hopefully this will work!

This was the most helpful response so far, I think.

• I cleared the cache 5 times. Powered off, unplugged, waited two minutes; replugged, powered back on.
• I deleted the corrupted download.
• I cleared the cache again, powered off, unplugged, etc. again.
• I downloaded over 10GBs of demos (every Lego title that exists, I think!), including for Fable 3. Since Fable 2 is 6.56 GB, I figured if a corrupted sector on the hard drive was to blame, I'd download files larger than the Fable 2 file size just to make
  sure.
• I tried downloading the Fable 2 title again. Same corrupt result. Just for kicks, I tried downloading the DLC for it. The three DLC packs download fine.
• I tried doing all of this AGAIN. Still corrupt.
  • In anger, I started playing Fable 3 Demo. [While interactions with NPCs are different, and a few mechanics have changed, it's almost the same game as Fable 2, with famous voice talent.]
    
  • I completed the demo for Fable 3; throwing caution to the wind, I bought Fable 3 and downloaded it successfully.
  • Fable 3 continues to work and I've been playing that game.
• I don't think it's that my hard drive is bad.

I think the Fable 2 available for Download on Xbox Live might be corrupted. I can't think of any other reason why it never works.

Is there a way to contact Xbox Live about the corrupted download?

I know the description says no refunds. The whole point of my buying the downloadable version was because Fable 2 has never been ported to PC.
