F1 2021 and ultrawide monitors

Hi,
does a 34inch ultrawide (21:9) show more picture than a 16:9 monitor or do they show the same. The 16:9 picture is more compressed and the 21:9 stretched. From what I understand the game is designed for 16:9 and 1080p ( I think), so I assume that when using a 21:9 I see the same content just spread over 34 inches... is my understanding correct. Likewise for super ultrawide (49 inches).

What I'm really trying to understand is what drives the final image content on the monitor... is it the game design, the xbox itself or the monitor, how do i see more of the track without zoom out by changing the FOV.

It depends on the game you want to play. You need to check which resolutions and image format the game support.

For a game developed for 16:9 ratio alone, 1080p, even if your monitor aspect ratio was 21:9 it will not grant you that extra peripherical view.

But a lot of games to offer that aspect ratio.

When all monitors were standard, the new wide monitor was ridiculous.

Working in ultrawide monitors was odd at first, soon it'll be new normal, I assume.

27" is an ideal screen if at a desk, middle of the ground, i have a 32" ultrawide as secondary and a 32" 16:9 144hz for my main screen, console suites the 16:9 spot on, but to tell the truth they are a biiiiit big for the distance i sit at lol.
