    Extremly low fps in games during fullscreen and borderless


    Since about a week I can't play any "newer" games in fullscreen mode anymore. As soon as I switch to Fullscreen my fps drop to <10. Everything worked before.

    Windows 11 installation is about 1 month old.

    Things I've tried so far:

    • Uninstalling graphics driver via DDU
    • Disabling any overlay or other software that might interfere with my graphics card
    • Disabling fullscreen optimisation
    • Disabling any sync-technologies in my graphics driver
    • Resetting Bios settings
    Specs:

    • CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
    • MB: MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX
    • GPU: Amd Radeon 580 (8GB Vram)
    • RAM: 16GB (3200MHz)
    Time it worked before this point: ~2 years

    You would need to contact EA for support on Battlefield. Even if you got it through GamePass it only acts as authentication to go on EA Play and download the games. Developers are responsible for their own apps and games.

    Do you know if your windows system received an update recently?
    Also, the whole month until now, your games was working as expected in full screen?

    Please first double check the thing with windows updates, try uninstalling one by one and test.
    **Don't forget to disable temporarily automatic updates

    make sure the game is running fullscreen and not borderless.

    make sure you have the latest gpu drivers.

    hard cap the framerate via amd drivers FRTC. or if you can't use msi afterburner to cap fps.

    not the cpu but the gpu, i see your running the 1660ti, that should be good for 72fps as your screen is set to 72hz.

    check that ultra low latency is not set to on or ultra as that knocks fps off. check if vsync is on global in nvidia control panel and off in game as you stated its all default, if default then global vsync will be off. in game vsync tends to be useless. are you running the game in fullscreen or borderless mode (borderless can hit the fps too)

    i know this game does have performance issues sometimes, there is the glitch about where it stated 0% gpu use but is actually using it.

    do you have anything new installed on the system where it could be running in the back ground, have you enabled recording in the background for gamebar or shadowplay at all.

    I had the exact same issue. Have an i7 4790, 16 GB RAM, and a RTX 2080 Super and couldn't get 30 fps. Switched from Borderless Window to Fullscreen, and now everything can run smoothly on Ultra.
