    Extremely slow download speeds XBOX Live


    Heya,

    Since as long as I can remember (for about 3 years), the speed with which I download demos/games from xbox live is terrible.

    I have a 120 Mb/s connection wtih 0%packet loss, 35ms ping, and very little/low jitter.

    All ports are forwarded correctly (yes I'm sure)

    Currently i'm making progress as fast as 1% (of 1,8GB) every 20 seconds, so around 0,9MB/s

    EXTREMELY slow download speeds

    I have the same complaint. I have a 24 MB/s line and my Xbox 360e is directly connected to the router via Ethernet cable. All other devices download test at 20-25 MB/s. EVERY TIME I download a game or patch from Xbox Live Gold, the speed crawls at 0.2MB/s!!!!

    I've tried updating the Xbox, changed Ethernet cables, etc., with NO difference. This tells me that Microsoft's servers are painfully slow. Why pay for a premium service with such pitiful performance?

    When its time to renew, I'm ready to go back to the free Xbox live and buy my games at GameStop on DVD!

    I hope someone at Microsoft reads this comment as it is deplorable that we receive such poor service. BTW, it is NOT an issue mof too many people on your servers either as I have downloaded at all times of the day and night!

    EXTREMELY slow download speeds

    Have you tried downloading any other content? Is it just as slow? Also, you may want to have a look at the following article on Xbox.com. It's not exactly related to your issue, but it may provide some useful tips:

    additional information: The xbox is no more then 3 meters away from the router, has a wireless connection and, when looking for wireless networks on the xbox, has full signal strength

    Actually, 120 mb/s is a pretty fast connection, also, 30 minutes for a download of that size is fairly good. You have no internet problems, it is just the size of the file your downloading.

    Let me put it in this perspective:

    4.5 hours - 64kbps

    2.25 hours - 128kbps

    1.125 hours - 256kbps

    now that is just downloading a movie, if your downloading a game it will take much longer.

    Right now Microsoft has limit the bandwidth to avoid any type of "Staturation" on the service!

    Now you can do a Speed Test on Settings and Network, just to verify the network.

    try restarting your xbox one console or router/modem you have. Or, even contact your internet provider and have them reset it manually. sometimes calling the company provider you have helps when they reset, i’ve done it before.
