Extremely slow download speed on Xbox One suddenly

I typically get 90 mb download/6 mb upload, but over the last several days I've been getting 1-3 mb, sometimes less, when I run the network speed test on my Xbox One. Upload speed is still 6 mb.

I've run speed tests on my PC as well as on my PS4 and the results are 90/6.

Nothing has changed hardware-wise or with settings. I have an ASUS RT-N66U router and **** SB6141 modem.

Any suggestions?

Extremely slow download speeds.

I have had my xbox account for almost 7 years, and my current one for about 4 or so. I have always had download speeds similar to my other devices with it, that is to say, very fast, as I have a pretty high bandwidth cable account.

But over the last few weeks suddenly my download speeds are extremely slow. Like, 27 minutes to download a 68 mb file slow. My other devices still work fine, and would download something of that size in seconds. I had changed no settings. I have since
tried forwarding the applicable xbox ports on my router (something I've never had to do before) and it still makes no difference.

My girlfriend recently purchased an xbox for the kinect functionality, and it too downloads extremely slowly here.

Is XBL just having issues with slow download speeds and it's not just me? Or did magically my network suddenly not want to download things ONLY from my xbox at full speed anymore?

Anyone have any advice?

EXTREMELY slow download speeds

I have the same complaint. I have a 24 MB/s line and my Xbox 360e is directly connected to the router via Ethernet cable. All other devices download test at 20-25 MB/s. EVERY TIME I download a game or patch from Xbox Live Gold, the speed crawls at 0.2MB/s!!!!

I've tried updating the Xbox, changed Ethernet cables, etc., with NO difference. This tells me that Microsoft's servers are painfully slow. Why pay for a premium service with such pitiful performance?

When its time to renew, I'm ready to go back to the free Xbox live and buy my games at GameStop on DVD!

I hope someone at Microsoft reads this comment as it is deplorable that we receive such poor service. BTW, it is NOT an issue mof too many people on your servers either as I have downloaded at all times of the day and night!

Some additional info.

I did the typical console hard reset as well as power cycling the modem and router. I also used the ethernet cable connected to my PS4 on the Xbox One. None of these things worked.

Wednesday Nov 23 was the first day the slow download speeds occurred. On Thursday evening speeds increased to 60-70 mb. Today, Friday, speeds were back down to ~1 mb when I first logged on. I tried again 15 minutes later and they increased to 80 mb. Right
after that test I tried again and got 1.5 mb. So, the issue is intermittent, according to the Test Multiplayer Connection feature.

Right now Microsoft has limit the bandwidth to avoid any type of "Staturation" on the service!

Now you can do a Speed Test on Settings and Network, just to verify the network.

try restarting your xbox one console or router/modem you have. Or, even contact your internet provider and have them reset it manually. sometimes calling the company provider you have helps when they reset, i’ve done it before.

hey, this issue could be one of a few things but to start are you using wireless or a wired connection.

This will affect how fast your Xbox downloads games and updates. If you're using wireless try to use a 5ghz Wi-Fi rather than 2.4ghz if your router/accesses point allows it, however, if possible try using a wired connection as it will be most stable and
much faster than wireless.

If you do go a wired route then the ethernet cable that you will want to acquire is a CAT-5E or CAT-6 ethernet cable. I

f you can't go the wired route then make sure that when you are downloading something on your Xbox try to keep your Xbox close to the wireless accesses point if possible and make sure that your network settings in your Xbox are not limiting the speeds of
the download.

Also having the Xbox in rest mode while downloading updates dose help the speed in my experience but this may vary.
