    Extremely frustarted - Controller broken and cannot create Service Request for the Elite...


    Firstly my Elite Controller 2 has now for second time within warranty broken shoulder bumper:

    When pressing Right Bumper it doesn't always react - sometimes when pressing Right Bumper it reacts like it was two button presses instead...

    When I last time got the controller back from service, it was imiaditely showing the above behaviour, but I thought maybe it's not that bad - now after few months it's only gotten worse.

    Secondly I've tried several times to create a service request via the website, but it keeps throwing me out every time I try complete the request!

    I enter the Issue Type, choose Service Type, select exchange method and delivery method in Delivery and then page starts loading Payment & Review and the damn website loads a moment, throws me back to relog and back to My Accounts website

    This is an absolute disgrace!!! Also there's no way to contact Support either (which was exactly same as last time). I tried every single option in the Support options and none of them gives an actual option to contact support.

    This is just discusting lack of quality in hardware and in service. I'm not sure what even to do as the device was bought from Amazon so I'm not sure if they can assist in the matter.

    I had in fact two V1 controllers as well and the bumpers on both were worse as the design of the bumper functionality was relying on simple piece of plastic. Basically both bumpers were in same plastic piece, which would eventually break. Hence why they
    sell those pieces in Amazon nowadays. Another issue in V1 was the rubber at the bottom of the controller could loosen up because the glue lost it's grip presumably due temperature - reminding to never leave those controllers on top of anything warm (e.g. on
    top of a laptop). V1 had bad design flaws.

    In V2 the bumpers are no longer (seemingly?) connected in same plastic and I do get more satisfying click sound when pressing the bumpers. Also the rubber handles are now better on the controller surface. Problem with V2 is deeper: when you press the bumper
    - the press doesn't register about 20-30% of the time. Or sometimes it registers as 2 quick presses instead which is an issue not alone in regular menus, but as an example in Destiny 2 when playing Titan class: if you want to create your bubble shield you
    need to hold both bumpers - if you just click both bumpers it pops the regular shield instead. So many times I've tried to create bubble shield and instead getting the regular shield because system registers right bumper as two quick presses, not one long
    press. Luckily there's now a setting in Destiny 2 that lets you prolong the double tap timeframe.

    I'm not sure if it's something wrong with pressure mechanism when bumper goes down, or in circuits with some connector pin/trace that isn't working properly.

    Did try all Chrome, Firefox and Edge - Service Request kept looping out. After an hour of trying it worked one time and I managed to get a service request for the controller through.

    Same thing however I originally had a simple question if the xbox elite controller V1 has a service department. I also asked if this same issue with the LB/RB is persistent in the V2 controller or if it was addressed. I got no answer but your post makes
    me believe these expensive controllers have a serious design flaw.

    Same thing here where the LB button ended up breaking. I bought a replacement part and put it back together myself and now wont turn on, and will turn off randomly when it is on. It is no longer in warranty as I got it a while ago. I don't mind paying for
    the service, but would just like to know how much (in case the cost benefit of buying a new controller is better).

    I asked a live chat and they just sent me to the controller trouble shooting...which didn't address any of my two questions. The following chat person I got had me register my xbox in order to create a service ticket for my xbox elite controller (more helpful)
    however on the site it blanks out the next button when creating the service ticket and only shows a caution sign and states to order a replacement and redirects me to the store.

    Luckily the chat person understood my problem and unfortunately wasn't able to help but was able to forward me to a microsoft specialist. This was just another long wait and wasn't able to get through to get my answers still.

    If you ar using chrome or safari that would be why best to use edge or firefox less issues with mosy websites

    You will put in a service request here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/devices
    under your console. Change the category to Accessories and then under select issue type select Elite Controller. Then input your PID number from the controller and click create repair order.
