Extreme price difference Xbox Stores (US vs NL)

Hello Xbox,

Today I saw that Dragon Age Inquisition Deluxe Edition was available in the US Store for only 70 dollar (56 euro) via Majornelson.com. So I decided to go the the Xbox online store (in my case the Dutch/NL store) and was unpleased to see the high price of
80 euro! Thats a difference of 24 euro / 30%! I noticed that a lot of games are 60 dollar (48 euro) in the US Store which are bing sold in the NL Store for 70 euros.

Why is there such a huge difference in prices between stores?

Finding Sales and Promotions in the European Xbox Store

Hey,

I just noticed a Capcom Sale by setting my Xbox to an American location (I'm from the Netherlands). I could also find the same information on http://www.xbox.com/en-US/promotions/sales/capcom-sale-xbox-one-games.

I am really wondering whether these sales are not promoted in European stores? When browsing through the store, I can actually find most of the same promotions. However, they are never mentioned anywhere... Why I wonder? Same goes for the website. The Dutch
version doesn't even mention the sale, while the US version does.

Why does this difference exist when both stores actually have those Capcom games on sale? Also happens with other sales... It really makes finding sales and promotions a hassle....

 

Missing reward credits

Hi,

Last time i got rewards for a game was 12/04/17. After that date i bought 5 more games.

ReCore,

Tropico 5 - Penultimate Edition,

Cities: Skylines - Xbox One Edition,

NBA Playgrounds,

Injustice™ 2,

The Stick Of Truth™ (360 Game not sure if that counts.).

And i think this is not the first time.

Prices are set not by the company but by what pricing conditions exist within the person's own country. If your country has a higher standard of living then odds are your government has set higher prices for items.

So, while you see a lower price for a different country and figure the math should be equal it is not.

 

The strange thing is the prices in regular stores are around 50-60 euro in the Netherlands. I really want to start getting my games digitally.. But with these kind of prices that is a no-go.

And since when are the standards of living for Americans so bad the prices are so low?

 

When you looked at the price for Holland and compared it to the U.S did you factor in Tax? Isn't VAT (Value added tax) 21% in Holland? That would probably be one of the reasons for the price difference. The U.S store prices are exclusive of tax which
is added at the end of the transaction - this is because each U.S state has it's own consumer tax rate.

Of course the second reason is because that is how much the publisher has set the price to be in the EU, they have the final say, not Microsoft.
