extra authentication is needed

    Are you connecting your console to a hotspot, or a guest network at a hotel, which are secured by a captive portal (authentication web page)?

    The second option require you to spoof the MAC address of an already associated/authenticated/authorized device and not the MAC address of whatever interface you're using to connect your Xbox (ethernet/wireless).

    Also, make sure you're not concurrently connected with the current associated/authenticated/authorized device and your console, as they use the very same layer 2 identity.

    I think that additional security code is the authentication code you get by downloading the app authentication for Microsoft it's an extra security layer. Have a good day.

    Also, just to give an extra advise, try enabling two steps verification and use Microsoft authenticator app (or any authentication app) + add emails or phone numbers that belongs to you.

    In that way your account is going to be more secure and only you can access to it

    If you are trying to stop people in your house from deleting your account, then you would need to not share your password, and set up extra security steps like 2 factor authentication. Unless it is a child account. If it is, then the parent would always
    have control to delete or modify the account.
