    Hello I have a problem with my External hard drive , I have lots of games on my Xbox and an empty storage so I can't play at every games I want . Last week I buy an external hard drive and when I plug him on my xbox it's recognize as a media and I can't
    put any game on it . It's a 3.0 and I try all the things I find on the support do you have a solution please ? Thanks you and sorry for my English i'm French I hope we could do something .

    I don't think that it's that bad of a catch to prevent me from using the external storage. Though I am not sure if I will ever need to actually use external storage. The fact that there will be 33 games at launch makes me think that eventually, a lot of users will need the external space. I'm OK with it not being functional for downloadable games. No biggie.

    It did say you could copy games from external to internal or another external, it just defaults installs to external if plugged in.

    You may very well get better performance with an external if you go with a significantly faster external than the internal but the problem is they aren't designed for it.

    Fantom is a well known for their external drives and it's a quality product (plenty of reviews online). If your going to use an external for gaming then the Fantom has a big advantage,,,huge vents, Cooling with an external is an issue when gaming off it.
    Dropping 250 bucks on a external and having it a fail from overheating would be painful.

    Xbox One Digital Download Transfer

    1. Plug external hard drive into Xbox One with good connection.

    2. Download games.

    3. Unplug external drive.

    4. Take external drive to Xbox One with bad connection.

    5. Plug external drive in.

    6. Play games.

    7. Say thank you.

    Note: External drive needs to be USB 3.0 and have 256GB of free space.

    I believe you can have up to 16tb of external space on the X1 and 2 external connected at once.

    So I believe to get the max external HDD space you need 2 x 8tb external HDD

    i have a 5tb external on my One

    And on topic, you can have , at most, 2 x 32gb flash drives plugged in at once.
