can someone 0lease tell me why my games and save files I have placed on my formated external hard drive for my 360 cannot be seen by my xbox one? i had alot of content on these drives. help!

XBox 360 game required hard drive issue

Some games do require an Xbox hard drive due to the system files on the drives. External hard drives will not work. They require an official MS Xbox 360 hard drive.

Hello there! So when you format an external hard drive on the XBOX One, the console formats the drive into a file system that a computer PC cannot see. The 360 did not do it that way. A lot of the reason the drive is formatted that way is to prevent piracy,
I would assume. This is an article I found when I Googled search this issue. There are others like it to.

For you Xbox One to use your Xbox 360 game save file you must upload the game save to the cloud from from an Xbox 360 console.

Once the hard drive is formatting for the 360, the files can only be seen on the 360. The One is not set up to read 360 files from anywhere but the Xbox servers. So any games you have downloaded will need to be redownloaded through your Ready to Install
area and any 360 game saves would need to be saved to the cloud.

What I've seen in past posts similar to this one …….

Original Xbox games on the 360 require an official MS hard drive - external storage won't work.

If your hard drive is not an official MS hdd, it will be missing the emulator files to allow original games on the BC list to run on your 360.

Hi Buddy..

Check to see if you have any hard drive space..

You may need a extra external hard drive.. Clear up some internal hard drive space.

Clear off the games that will re-install later on.

Buy a new External hard drive and transfer a few game to the new drive

I filed up my XBox 360 internal hard drive 500MB I need a external hard drive.

XBox just recently updated my XBox 360 too. I took off the games that is on my XBox One.
