    External usb drive error

    Hi.

I get this error 0x80820002d. It says my external drive is detected, but the connection is to weak. Unplug and plugging in back in most often solves the problem.

    Any thoughts?

  2. External Seagate 2TB Game Drive for Xbox 360 gets Device not allowed error

I have an xbox 360 that was running off a 8GB USB thumb drive with NO internal drive.

I just purchased an seagate 2TB external usb game drive for xbox which is compatible with both the xbox one and xbox 360. When I started a game it asks where I want to store the game and I chose the external 2TB drive. I get the error “Device not allowed”.
“The game only permits installing HD content on the Xbox 360 Hard Drive”. I bought a genuine Xbox USB external drive was expecting it to work seamlessly.

    Play videos on burned discs

Okay. I heard that they play if on an external USB drive but wasn't sure if the same was true for burned discs.

    Xbox 360 Wont Update

That error is appearing with and without HDD, also using a USB or external drive to perform the update?
Or the error message is different using a USB?

Help,my Xbox has turned on me

If you have an external hard drive connected via USB disconnected and it performs a power cycle, check for the same error without connecting the external hard drive

    games on external harddrive

"Tried the reformatting. external has a hardware issue. i cant even partition it. something about an i/o error. that external is dead."

The i/o error could be the drive has died, the USB cable is faulty or not seated properly, or the USB port on the console is faulty.

I would try a different cable and a different port on the console before disposing of the external drive.
