Is anyone else having an issue where the XB1 just stops recognizing a hard disk? I'm not talking like the disk went to sleep. It no longer sees it at all and refuses to recognize the disk is even plugged in. It's just happened to me for the first time
since the preview versions of NXOE, where it happened several times. All I did was reboot my Xbox. I am pretty sure I will have to connect it to a PC and wipe out the partition table to make it recognizable by the Xbox again.

I called support and they said to do the Offline update, which I tried but it says it can't do, and I need to have my Xbox fixed. This makes me angry because the external storage features weren't added until after my warranty was over. So my Xbox could have
been "broken" all along but I never would have known it until they added the features.

Additionally, my Xbox otherwise works completely fine. It still sees if I plug a USB into the flash drive. Things installed on my internal disc are fine. Everything is fine. So this feels like a load of crap to me. I'm very concerned even if I get another
Xb1 that this problem is not hardware like they claim but something broken in NXOE.

It's not my hard disk or my enclosure, because I've now had this happen across 2 different discs on 3 different USB enclosures, which all work absolutely fine when plugged into a PC. I switched disks and enclosures just to rule that possibility out.

Oh, and support had me clear the local bluray storage *3* times in a row...so apparently it's now like wiping the Dalvik cache on an Android phone.

So is this happening to anyone else, and if so, were you able to fix it? I've tried all the hard reboot/leave it unplugged type solutions, none do anything.

    :)

    USB Hard Disk

I am wondering how to access content on an external USB hard disk. Is it possible to play videos from USB Hard Disks on the Xbox One?

So, I have the same Issue.

My external USB HDD doesn't work anymore on my XO. I would change my background to one of my photos from external Drive (as have done before without problems) but it doesn't work. I put the USB cable in, the HDD lights are on and it seems to work probably,
but no reaction from the console External USB disk problems continue :(

External Drive works without problems on laptop. Have tested another USB Cable, delete the Cache (10sec. off), but nothing. No reaction from the XBox.

USB Flash Drive, same USB slot.... no problem.

So where can be the problem?

I have also the formated the HDD new as an NTFS Partition. Nothing happened.

Would be thankful for an solution to this mystical problem.

  5. To get my disk "working" again, I have to delete all the partitions. Formatting wasn't enough. You can re-create them if you want, but the Xbox wants to re-do that anyway if you store games on it.
