    External Storage vs Shrinkable Games


    So here’s an interesting one. I have a 1tb Xbox One X (fully updated) and 2x 5tb external drives. The reason for the 2 externals is that I plan to use one on the road with my other Xbox One X console.

    On each drive, I have 363 items using a total of 2tb of space. The contents of both drives are exactly the same.

    When I go into Shrinkable Games, it tells me that I can shrink 15 items for a savings of 26.5gb. However, this is ONLY on one of the drives. Let’s call that one Drive B. Drive A is unaffected, despite having the exact same items and using the exact same amount of space.

    Can anyone enlighten me as to why this is? I’m all about saving space but I’m concerned about the effects of shrinking one drive’s items and not the other’s.

    Shrinkable games are games that allow "cleaning and organization" of installed files, reducing the size it occupies on the storage device.

    Do you think Microsoft should allow Xbox One users to Upgrade their Hard-Drives, or offer a service giving users options for them to Upgrade our hard-drives for us?

    It will be easier to bring along an external drive (with my games loaded onto it) when visiting friends/family, rather than bringing my console....this is why I like external vs. internal storage.

    Huh internal would be the prepatched version

    External hdd can't run patched games

    Only Xbox storage cards or internal storage work with it

    Internal storage and storage cards are decades beyond anything your external hdd can put out

    500mbps bottlenecked vs blazing 4.5gbps not.bottlenecked since you are sitting on the memory bus bot behind 4 different buses

    Running your patched games would demand you to move it to internal or storage card
