External Storage Issue

Having a problem where my games will close down and I'll get a message saying 'External Storage Ready'.

I understand this means that my External drive is losing connectivity to the console. Obviously it's frustrating.

Any fix for this yet? I had an issue over a year ago where I just replaced the USB cable, but I don't really want to have to shell out for a new wire everytime.

External Storage Detection Issue

My external storage 4tb drive, made by SEAGATE, which has been working perfectly since I got it, is not being detected by my Xbox One. Most of my games are on this drive, since it has such a large storage, and I am unable to play them unless I download them
to the internal storage. Can anyone tell me why the device is not being detected, and how to fix it?

Well now I am wondering if the X1 will let us use it to put game son it, probably not

It was probably a given, but we now know that while the PlayStation 4 supports external storage (like the PlayStation 3 before it), we won’t be able to use that storage to play downloaded games. Thank Sony games honcho Shuhei Yoshida — one of those rare corporate divisional presidents who spends a pile of time fielding questions on Twitter, pretty much daily – for confirming as much last week.

Try performing a hard reset. It will sometimes resolve those issues.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test
the results.

In that case I personally would check out that Reddit post, if you're comfortable with the Disk Management tool on your PC. More often than not removing and then creating the disk partition again will help.

Like I already said, its correct format, USB 3, and 8tb. In storage I don't have a format for games and apps option, only "view contents" and "set as capture location" everything you said I already addressed in the original post, my Seagate XBOX LICENSED
harddrive should have 0 issues.
