External storage device questions

I'm trying to move my games from Xbox one to an external hard drive (Seagate 1TB) and I'm having difficult. I have formatted the device. The games have been on queued for hours with 0 transfer of data. Can some one suggest what to do next?

Microsoft have said that this feature is coming. They have not said when that will be yet.

I have had some problems like that before. What I used to do was cancel the transfer and restart it again and I would do one or two games at a time. I think with having a lot of games transferring to the external hard drive can be a little much. That seemed
to work out as well as try reformatting it again and also restarting the console and only doing one or two games at a time. I know that it can be frustrating having to wait and do each one individually can be bothersome but at least you can get your games
on there.

just to be sure, are the games installed on the internal storage device or an external storage device?

If they are installed on an external storage device, please try and see what happens if the game is installed on the internal storage device and the external storage device is disconnected.

Hi there,

it may seem a weird question, but do you have any external storage devices connected to the console? If so, please disconnect those and see if the issue is still happening. I had weird controller issues and dashboard lag etc. which was caused by a failing external storage device.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your external storage. Which Xbox is this and what storage device? Have you tried connecting the storage device to a PC to see if that detects it?
