    External Storage Device detection


    My xbox one, the original, isn’t indentifying my external storage device. It’s been working for years and all of a sudden it’s disconnected once I turn on my xbox again. I’ve tried every possible way xbox support website gave me and still nothing. Does
    anyone know what to do?

    External Storage keeps disconnecting

    Hi Dirty Dawg Face,

    If you are having issues with storage detection I would follow this
    storage device not detected    . I would try connecting it to another Xbox or computer to see if it is detected as well.

    If the above troubleshooting guide fails I would recommend contacting the manufacturer of your external storage device you are using as it could be failing.

    External hard drive is not detected

    My console is xbox one and device is up-to date with no pending updates to be installed. I have western digital hard drive with 1TB size. The connecting USB cable is 3.0.

    My console is not detecting external storage device. Before writing here, i did browse for solution and there was an option to un-check setting "turn off external device when console is off". I tried that but no smile.

    Please help me to connect my external device and browse the contents on my console.

    Note : i do not want to extend console storage with external hard drive.
