External Storage and the past/future updates.

I have net used up all of my storage space yet, and i understand that i could uninstall and re-install my games on the go and all but, when did we or are we going to be able to use our external hard drives? My only concern is with the flood of new
games coming out this fall. if it has already happened can some one point me in the direction of a decent terabyte hard drive, and if not does anyone have any answers?

@lostmymind...both have expandable storage options.....Sony has a removeable HDD and Microsoft has a future update to allow external HDD

its pretty unlikely, or even impossible to implement external storage within the next update.

As much as I read about it, its planned to implement external storage devices in the future.

I remember hearing something about this a while back. I never heard a timeline on the external storage, but if I had to assume on a timeline I would say probably this fall. Like you mentioned there is a flood of games coming out this fall. I also heard
about them using a larger hdd in a future console as well. I am sure that Microsoft is working on this, but as for a timeline I haven't really heard anything. I am currently waiting myself for an external storage to be compatible. I really wish that I would
be able to use the cloud storage that is out now, that way I don't have to have wires hooked up to my console.

 

External storage although announced along side the console it won't actually be available until later this year

 

It is coming hopefully soon there could be an announcement next month

I got a WD MyBook and I like it, but it doesn't shut down like it does with a computer

I say Xbox needs to make the Xbox One power off USB when you turn the One off

Please fix this issue Xbox

 

Just make sure the external hard drive you buy is a USB 3.0, otherwise it won't be compatible with the xbox one.
