  1. external SSD corruption

I have been using a terabyte external SSD and I'm positive it is corrupted as it no longer works on my Xbox and am wondering if I should be worried about my game saves on multiple games like GTAV and COD. Should I just be worried about my game saves on
offline games or is there a risk that if I redownload, for example, GTAV will i lose my online files as well if I can't salvage the downloads somehow? Any advice on the issue would be much appreciated as I can't seem to find any info on this problem on any
    forum.

    :)

Your game saves are normally saved in the cloud by default. If you re-install your games on a different drive, the cloud saves should automatically be downloaded when you start the game.

maxiumum amount of external hard drives on series x

You can have up to 3 external hard drives/ssd on the Series X|S and Xbox One. Each hard drive/ssd can have a minimum capacity of 128 GB and a maximum of 16 TB. If you try more than that, then it's more than likely you will get data corruption.

    External Hard Drive

What type of drive is it? SSD or disk? Have you tried a different USB cable? Sometimes those go bad. If you have an external disk drive if they get bumped while in use that can ruin those. Plus some of the cheaper SSD's can get corrupted. Is you xbox recognizing
the drive? Need more enough to try to help.

Rise of the Tomb Raider only starts with DLC installed, if console is switched offline.

If anyone is interested, we managed to find that the problem only occurs if the game is installed on an external ssd.

If the game is moved from the ssd to the internal hdd the problem does not occur. Formating the ssd and moving the game back did not fix the problem. Other games launch fine from the external ssd.

The problem seems to be linked to (external?) ssds and (Rise of the Tomb Raider?) DLCs.

Playing XB Series Exclusives on External SSD

So no upcoming X/S exclusive games will be able to play off an external SSD? Even an official Xbox external SSD?
