    External SSD capacity very incorrect

    Hi All,

I'm trying to move Xbox content to an external SSD (to improve the speed). However, I have a 256gb drive, I'm using 22gb but it only shows 9gb free space.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    :)

    Replace internal HDD

    Hi.

I have an XBOX One that no longer under warranty, I would change the internal 500GB HDD for higher capacity SSD, I know that you can put external hard drives, but I want to change the internal hard drive for an SSD.

I have seen tutorials online and have it clear how, what worries me is that I can be banned from Live and / or my console can be banned too.

    Can anyone answer this?

    regards

How to make 2TB in USB Flash disk (XBOX 360 S)

    Hello Milan,

If all you have is a flash drive with a capacity of 32GB, you cannot format it to magically have 2TB of space. You would need to buy a new external storage device (typically a hard drive or SSD) that has a capacity of 2TB; you would then be able to format
this device for use with your Xbox 360.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

    External SSD capacity very incorrect

The drive has to be Xbox formatted for it to even work. You say you're trying to move content? So you haven't moved anything yet?

A requirement is, it has to be 256 GB or larger in storage capacity, even though yours is 256, it might not meet this.

Also have a quick read of this first...

Can't install Xbox App games in a drive other than C:

It's not an external drive but a different SSD.

My boot drive (C:) has only 512gb capacity but I have a different SSD installed with 4 TB capacity

maxiumum amount of external hard drives on series x

You can have up to 3 external hard drives/ssd on the Series X|S and Xbox One. Each hard drive/ssd can have a minimum capacity of 128 GB and a maximum of 16 TB. If you try more than that, then it's more than likely you will get data corruption.

Regarding the xbox and the new xbox scarlett

Like others have mentioned the cost of high capacity SSD drives will be the issue, especially as they need to keep the console price as low as possible in order to compete with other console pricing.

I’d be happy if they ship with a 1TB SSD in Scarlett. I can always add an external drive if I need more storage plus I would hope the next console includes USB-C which would provide a higher data bandwidth between the console and external devices.
