  1. External HDD with two 1tb partitions.

Alright so now after seeing the new update supports up to 2tb externals, I felt like getting in on that, but I didn't want to format 700gb of movies saved on said external HDD. So I'm wondering if I were to split the partition into two separate 1tb partitions,
would I be able to only configure the now empty second partition for Xbox storage? I really don't want to buy another external specifically for use with Xbox so if I could do the above that'd be great and I'd be eternally grateful.

    :)

Is it possible? To create two partitions on an external drive and use just one partition for the xbox360. And the other for non Xbox file storage? [/quote]

I've had a 1TB External HDD Partitioned for a deticated 16GB Xbox partition & when the Xbox Console configured it, the other partitions were no longer recognised in Windows & to get it to recognise, you have to format the drive again in Windows for FAT32...
So how is the answer, Yes..?? or are you using a program, to look at your Xbox files on your computer..??

Yes, I did customise the partitions & not elect to delete data on the other partitions... The partition with Music files were there & recognised, until I connected the 1TB external HDD to the console & configured the HDD partition to Xbox etc.. When I connected
the HDD to the computer again, the data was gone & not retrievable, because the sectors have been deleted & re-written...

I don't just say things, for the fun of it... I've had a computer for over 25 years... So I know my way around a computer...

External HDD with two 1tb partitions.

Sorry but I do not believe that partitioning a drive is possible at this point.

Partitioning is indeed possible. This is how:

Use your PC/Mac/Whatever, and your favourite software to create the partitions. They can be in any order, but here is the setup of mine:

    Partition 0 - Stuff.

Partition 1 - Format to FAT32. Has my 360 stuff on it.

Then pop it into your 360 via USB cable, and you're good to go.

Thanks man! You were definitely correct. Since Windows wouldn't format Fat32 over 32gigs, I had to use a 3rd party program, but it worked and now I got a sweet 923 gigs for xbox games.
