External HDD with multiple partitions

I have a 2 TB external HDD that I would like to use with my One. Does anyone know if it would be possible to partition this drive in half to use half as external storage and half for media?

Multiple Partitions on External HDD

So before I get into it, I understand that connecting an external to the xbox usb ports limits you to a FAT32 format and a 32GB partition. I also know that you cannot create and access multiple FAT32 partitions via connecting to one of
the usb ports.

My question is has anyone tried using multiple partitions on one HDD by connecting to both of the usb ports with the use of a Sync USB Power adapter cable?

It's basically a USB splitter in reverse. 1 female 2 male. I've copied a link below to help illustrate my point. My thinking is that the xbox wouldn't recognize that it's the same device if it's plugged in to two different ports. Has anyone tried this? Or
am I insane?

no does not matter how many partitions you add the system will only see up to 32 gigs PER drive sorry.

Hey there, unfortunately the Xbox One does not support partitioned hard drives, but someone has requested this be added as a feature, which you can support here:

What if we create multiple 32GB partitions on External HDD. Will xbox show all of them and we can use all those partitions the same ways?

I am asking because I am planning to use some drives for xbox and rest of them to use for PC.

The Format Hard Drive function is also there so that you can format external USB 3.0 HDD's with the appropriate Xbox partition for saving games etc. By default, a new external HDD would come with a FAT or NTFS partition which cannot be used for installing
Xbox games. A NTFS partitioned external hard drive can be used however for extended Game DVR clips.
