  1. External hdd stopped being detected

Have been running a 1tb toshiba usb 3 hdd since june update and today it's just stopped being detected while the xbox was on . I was watching youtube backed out to dashboard and then launched 4od and it said you need to install the app .The blue light comes
on when connected and i can feel it spinning . I've tried a hard reset and a factory reset , still not detected . Tried another of the same harddrives that hasn't been formatted and thats detected but don't want to format that because that contains my movies.
I've also changed the cables between the hdd s still no joy . All my games and apps are on the hdd and i've a data cap . Is this a known issue or any fixes for this please , thankyou

    :)

Can you try different usb slots to see if it will work in one of them? Also, try unplugging the hard drive then hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down. Restart the console and plug to hard drive back in.

Ok, I know you said you tried a hard reset and a factory reset but can you try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down then unplug all cables from the console and let it sit for about 30 minutes to see if that helps?

Sorry to hear it. This seems to be a bigger issue than we'll be able to handle on the forums then. Please feel free to contact phone support for a little more trouble shooting assistance.

1-800-469-9269 in North America or click the link to arrange a call back.

Other than that, the only thing I could suggest is that there is an issue with the hard drive itself.

  9. If thats the case the xbox has caused the harddrive issue , it's two months old and has only ever been connected to the xbox one . This gives me no faith in trying a new harddrive and waisting another £70 .i'am very unhappy with this

But thanks for your help onyx62is

I got the 3TB version and this is what I Replying to all the Hard Drive question here as this needs to be fixed Please

I got a WD MyBook and I like it, but it doesn't shut down like it does with a computer

I say Xbox needs to make the Xbox One power off USB when you turn the One off

    Please fix this issue Xbox
