External HDD still not readable from summer update

I know this has been posted before by myself and others, however there have been no recent responses from Microsoft, so I am starting a new thread in the hopes they'll pipe in. I went through 20 pages in the forum and no new info to this problem and want
some sort of update and assurance that he issue is still being worked and if possible, a timeline for completion. It's already been 3 months since that update ruined things and Cortana was an abysmal failure, and I don't think a periodic "we're working the
issue" is asking too much.

Xbox unable to read media files beyond 2TB in 4TB external HDD

I have a 4TB external HDD plugged onto my xbox one (1TB with 80GB space left). My external HDD is filled up with approx 2TB data. Now the new video files that i add on the external hdd is not being detected by any of the video players in xbox but they are
readable from my PC. The existing video files work fine in the xbox. How to fix the issue?

What Marc Whitten said was he appreciated feedback and that we should keep them coming as they were listening. And that External HDD was a big one for us and they were working on it.

Basically they know we really want it. And it wouldn't surprise me if it came in one of the patches before summer.

It's a pretty isolated issue. Not one person I know of has had this issue and I've barely come across it as an ambassador.

What things have you tried already? I'd recommend a hard reset, and if that doesn't work, try a full factory reset. The issue could also be with the hard drive itself, so try connecting it to a PC or another console to see if it still works as it should.

 

I've never had an issue with any external hard drives in either the 360 or the one. I would try another drive and see if it works fine. If it does then you know it's something with the drive itself.

 

Been through all of the standard troubleshooting methods and spoke with a Microsoft rep on chat. Was working on both of my XB1's prior to the summer update. PC picks it up and I haven't reformatted yet as I was hoping this would be resolved. Not buying
it's my drive as neither console will now read an external.
