External HDD Space not being detected

I have a 2TB Western Digital external, Worked fine up until recently. It has a number of games on it already and I can play them fine, games show in the games & Apps if the HDD is plugged in and disappear if I disconnect the HDD

The HDD detects in Storage Management and is set as my default location for new installs but games & apps only shows my internal space and new games get installed to the internal HDD

Pretty confused atm as my GF has the same external and has no issues.

Xbox unable to read media files beyond 2TB in 4TB external HDD

I have a 4TB external HDD plugged onto my xbox one (1TB with 80GB space left). My external HDD is filled up with approx 2TB data. Now the new video files that i add on the external hdd is not being detected by any of the video players in xbox but they are
readable from my PC. The existing video files work fine in the xbox. How to fix the issue?

I would try a new cable, you could use your girlfriends as you know that its working.

Hi, I would check the power mode setting

Scroll left from Home to open the guide.

Select Settings.

Select All settings.

Select Power.

Go to Power mode.

Unselect the checkbox next to “When Xbox is off, turn off storage”

Then press and hold the power button on the Xbox for 10 seconds and the Xbox powers off, power on again using the power button on the Xbox.

I got a WD MyBook and I like it, but it doesn't shut down like it does with a computer

I say Xbox needs to make the Xbox One power off USB when you turn the One off
