  1. External HDD repeatedly being detected

I have gone back through about ten pages of threads looking for a similar problem to mine, so I wouldn't have to make a post. The only post I found similar to mine was locked, and from a year ago, so not sure how common my problem is.

I bought a Seagate 1TB external HDD for my XBox One. I have it plugged in and formatted to work for storage for my apps and games. I have had it connected for quiet a while. For some reason, even when I turn off the console, every so often I get system notifications
about the hard drive being ready to use.

Now, the next question you will probably ask is if it is my main storage, and the answer is yes.

Of course, just the other day I had a freak accident where there were something like 115 notifications on my HDD being connected, and some older notifications being reposted in the notification section. So I am curious if there is a setting I need to change,
or if this is just how the console works?

    :)

Ok, I know you said you tried a hard reset and a factory reset but can you try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down then unplug all cables from the console and let it sit for about 30 minutes to see if that helps?

Hi, I would check the power mode setting

Scroll left from Home to open the guide.

    Select Settings.

    Select All settings.

    Select Power.

    Go to Power mode.

Unselect the checkbox next to “When Xbox is off, turn off storage”

Then press and hold the power button on the Xbox for 10 seconds and the Xbox powers off, power on again using the power button on the Xbox.
