External HDD for Xbox360

Hi

I am looking at upgrading HDD as I have a 120gb and 60gb already full.

Could I buy a 1/2tb hard drive and use it via usb for the extra storage or would I need to buy a 250/320gb xbox hard drive.

I couldn't say for certain on Xbox360: You May see slight performance benefit from using faster external HDD with latest Xbox360 dashboard update, and it will depend on the condition of your console and/or internal components.

its 320GB HDD is internal.

this 250GB hdd is it external? im guessing so as you say youve removed it so im guessing all you content (profile, game saves and downloads) are on it, so that might be why you cant go online as the info it needs are on your HDD.

 

You would need a 250/320gb hard drive.Even if you used a 1/2tb external drive it would still only give you 32gb of storage.

Just make sure you get an official Microsoft hard drive as 3rd party ones will give you all kinds of trouble.

 

If you purchase a regular external HDD (non-Xbox), you would only be limited to using 32gb of storage space on the drive so it wouldn't matter how large the drive is. It would be best to look for an actual Xbox drive so yes, a 250 or 320gb.

My xbox 360 hard drive was banged around a bit, and now whenever I turn my xbox on with the hard drive in it my xbox freezes on the logo screen. Help!
