External HDD disconnects xbox from internet

I have been having this issue where when I plug my external harddrive into my xbox one, it will slow the internet of just the xbox either right down to 0.1Mbps down or disconnect it entirely, rendering my xbox and all the games on it offline only when it's
plugged in. I'm currently having to waste hours a day moving game to and from internal and external storage just so I can play online.

I have been inquiring about the issue for months now and I've been told time and time again just to wait because xbox is working of fixing it. But never once have I even seen them acknowledge that it's a problem let alone state they're trying to fix it.
Instead they've been **** around with voice messages and other crap that doesn't really improve my online experience, especially since yknow I can't get online half the time.

What I want to know is, is xbox actually trying to fix this issue? Is there a way I can magically fix it myself? (note that I've tried everything under the sun to fix it myself at this point, apart from hitting it with a hammer)

Xbox One Not Connecting To Internet And External HDD

My XboxOne has been recently slow or sometimes doesn’t connect to internet and the external hard drive. I have to manually connect to the internet and disconnect HDD and reconnect for it to see

Please provide the above information. However, this has helped some with external HDD issues.

Disconnect the external HDD from the console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console
(DO NOT connect the external HDD Yet). Once it is back up and operational connect the external HDD and test for results. Did the XBOX recognize the drive? Let us know. Good Luck!

Hi there. MS has been rolling out a lot of bug fixes lately so trust that they're working on all compatibility. That said your issue is a bit different than others I've seen. If you've narrowed down the hard drive as the culprit thay is killing your network
connection on the console then you should focus on the drive. Have you formatted the hard drive and started over with it? Does this happen when your console plugged in and on wireless? If it only happens on wireless it could be the drive is somehow causing
interference with the wireless connection.

I'm using my 5G internet as opposed to 2.4 G, I'm just curious as to why my console has to disconnect from the internet when an external HDD is removed (I repeat: regardless of whether the console is on or not) Anyone else have this issue? (I've set the
HDD for 'Media' if that helps) thanks for the feedback
