  1. External HDD disconnecting on Xbox shutdown

    Greetings,

so I've plugged my brand new Samsung 1TB USB 3.0 hard drive on my Xbox. It was recognized and formated so I could install new games on it, a as soon as I did, I download and installed Valiant Hearts on it with no problems whatsoever.

Thing is, EVERY time I shutdown my Xbox One, when I turn it on again, the HDD appears unplugged and all the games I've downloaded on it are missing. I have to manually unplug the USB cable and plug it again so it can get back to work. Every time.

    Anyone having these same issues?

My power settings are set to "Instant-On" mode.

    Thanks.

    :)

  2. External HDD and Console becomes unresponsive.

    Hello Everyone,

I have an issue with my external hard drive where each time a boot from instant mode the xbox becomes unusable when I lunch a game until I power off my HDD and boot it back. As soon as I do that the Xbox is working properly.

I'm using a MediaSonic Enclosure with a WD 1tb black edition.

XBOX is set up to shutdown the external HDD at shutdown.

    Regards,

message to clean the disk in a game downloaded

    Hi!

If you have the game installed on an external HDD, try disconnecting the HDD and connecting it to a different USB port. Turn on the console and try to start the game again.

Strange. Please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down to see if that helps the issue.

  5. Just did as you suggested and it worked... when I turned the Xbox on again, the HDD was there. But after that, I did a regular shutdown and guess what? When I booted it again the hard drive was still disconnected...

I also tried changing the USB cable - no success.

  6. Just solved it! There is a option in Settings, under "power & startup" called "when xbox is off, turn off storage". It was checked, I un-checked it and voila! Now the HDD stays connected even I when turn the Xbox off.

So are your external hdd always on then now? Or does it go to sleep and wakes up as you shut down and turns on the XBO

  9. It stays always on, even when I shut down my Xbox. Better than going through the hassle of unplugging/plugging every time I turn my console on, I guess.
