    External HDD cutting out

HI, i recently purchased a new 1tb external drive for my xbox one. its 2.5" usb 3.0 and has more than enough free space to fit the requirements.

I initially had some issues with it not being recognised by the console, but a few google searches gave me a couple of avenues to try. Eventually i got my hands on a new usb 3.0 cable and insured it was plugged in to a rear usb drive.

There were some issues with the drive "cutting out" but i did a full power down and managed to format the drive just fine.

Now however the drive continually disconnects and reconnects. Which is obviously a major pain.

    What could be causing this?

    :)

500gig hard drive on Xbox One but how long wihllthat last?

By the time the internal HDD is filled, the system update to support external HDDs should be out.

I only had this issue occur once for me. My solution may work for you, but I'm not sure.

First I powered down my Xbox One.

Once powered down (full power down; Power Settings to Energy Saving and then turning off console), I unplugged all connections touching the console itself and unplugged the brick from the wall.

Once that was done, I checked each connection and made certain it was firm. After that, I plugged the brick back in and powered back up.

For me, this what was needed. I had moved the console slightly while handing another console's issue and it likely moved a cable just enough. With that said, if you're certain it's not the firm connections there's not much else.

All else I would suggest is making sure your drive is properly connected via USB3.0 on the back of the console. Chances are you did that.

One curiosity though, is your USB3.0 device powered through USB or through AC Adapter? (Mine is a secondary power supply.)

    Loading Data to Game Frozen

Everyone having this problem it is SOLVED

Buy an external HDD and move everything on the internal HDD to the external

This will not only cut load times, but make the system run the way it should run. The internal Xbox HDD is garbage.

How Much Memory and What About My 360?

Also, you can also add an external HDD via USB.

I plan on at least getting 1 or 2 TB. 500 GB isn't going to cut it.
