  1. External HDD Compatibility Questions

I'm considering using the WD4003FZEX (Western Digital 4 TB sata III Black 7200 rpm) and attaching it to the Sabrent EC-FELT (USB 3.0 to Sata III HDD docking station) as an external hard drive.

Question 1: for reliability and speed, is this that much better than the WD My Book 4TB? Mostly for reliability, to be honest. The price tag doesn't bother me that much, but if it's just not worth it, then I won't spend the extra.

Question 2: Is this setup compatible with the Xbox One?

    Thanks!

    :)

    External Hdd question

The Xbox One doesn't have a rip CD function. Instead, you rip it using PC/Mac and put it on storage media or OneDrive and pull it from there. As you are on Mac using OneDrive would probably be the easiest due to HDD/Storage format differences.

NTFS can be read by PC and Xbox One along with FAT and FAT32. The Mac doesn't use that format but maybe there are tools which allow you to read/write to a HDD using that format?

If not, you could stream from your Mac to your Xbox One using things like Plex.

No Visible Game Updates With External HDD Plugged In

This did not address my question at all. My issue is NOT that I cannot play games off my external HDD. I am aware I can only play backwards compatible games of my HDD.

The issue is that the system will not show me any available updates for EITHER the backwards compatible games on my HDD OR the updates for the Optimized games on my internal drive when the HDD is plugged in.
